Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Ghanaian hip-hop and Afro-fusion artist Ko-Jo Cue has officially released his long-awaited second studio album, titled KANI: A Bantama Story.” In a heartfelt message shared on his social platforms, Ko-Jo Cue reflected on the deeply personal inspiration behind the project, writing:

“I can only pull from the places I’ve walked. I can only speak of the people I’ve loved and learned from. I can only write what I feel. Sometimes those feelings are joyful and nostalgic. Sometimes they are painful and pushing. But always — they are human. Unapologetically human.

It is my honour to share my second album with you: KANI: A Bantama Story.

My only request is simple — listen from top to bottom, with all your heart.

This story could have been told by Kwadwo Aji, Kofi Kyei or Azorlɛɛ but it was left to me. I owe it to them.”

The statement perfectly sets the tone for KANI: A Bantama Story — a 17-track sonic memoir that chronicles Ko-Jo Cue’s life, roots, and reflections growing up in Bantama, Kumasi. The project blends personal storytelling, rich cultural references, and introspective lyricism, staying true to his artistry and authenticity.

Through this album, Ko-Jo Cue explores themes of faith, growth, community, and purpose, presenting a narrative that feels both deeply local and universally human. Each track connects to a moment, a memory, or a lesson, woven together to tell one cohesive story — a reflection of who he is and where he’s from.
