The Ashanti Regional Police Command has announced road closures ahead of the one-week observance of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

The revered queen mother passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the age of 98. Her death was formally announced by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, during an Asanteman Council meeting on Monday, August 11, 2025.

In a press release signed by DSP Godwin Ahianyo, Head of Public Relations for the Ashanti Regional Police Command, authorities stated that all major roads leading to the Manhyia Palace will be closed on Thursday, August 21, for the one-week funeral rites.

Motorists have been cautioned to comply with traffic diversion directives and parking arrangements. Additionally, rickshaws, tricycles, and motorbikes will not be permitted in and around the Manhyia Palace during the event.

To ease movement, shuttle services will be provided from key locations such as the Asawasi Methodist Park and the Central Mosque Car Park.

The police further warned that any vehicle parked in unauthorized zones will be towed without hesitation.
