TECHAiDE, a tech -based education company,  has launched an upgraded version of its ASANKA platform, an offline smart learning device designed to bridge the digital divide.

The ASANKA platform is a smart learning experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered  tools designed to support seamless learning aligned with the Ghana Education Service (GES) curriculum.

The new version of ASANKA offers two models and a device that allows up to 25 users to connect simultaneously to a single-user tablet.

Dr Clement Apaak, Deputy Minister of Education, emphasized the government’s commitment to integrating technology into the educational sector.

He acknowledged TECHAiDE’s contributions which had helped to establish digital libraries and supported learning initiatives across the country.

Mr. Kafui Prebbie, Chief Executive Officer of TECHAiDE, observed that the ASANKA platform had been in existence for about seven years, hence the upgrade to meet the growing needs of students, teachers, and parents.

“With the age of AI and new technologies for education, we have decided to improve and add tools that allow parents to access the content of what their kids are learning offline,” he stated.

Mr. Prebbie explained that the devices provided access to a vast range of educational content without the need for internet connectivity, making them particularly beneficial for students in remote areas.

TECHAIDE has also established the Education Innovation Labs, a programme aimed at training teachers to effectively use ASANKA in classrooms and targeted to reach about 3,000 teachets in the next two years.

With the new platform parents could monitor what their children sre learning and it is currently used in Liberia, Sierra Leone and the Gambia.
