The Member of Parliament for Wa East, Godfred Seidu Jasaw, has allocated some funds to support urgent road maintenance works within the constituency.

The funds, which were presented to the Wa East District Assembly, are expected to finance fuel for grader machines under the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) and help open up key roads to improve accessibility in the area.

In a statement issued to the Ghana News Agency on Saturday, May 9, Dr. Jasaw noted that the District Chief Executive, Adamu Sayibu, received the cheque on behalf of the Assembly and expressed appreciation for the MP’s continued support and collaboration toward the district’s development.

The Assembly assured that the funds would be used for their intended purpose to address emergency road repairs and improve access to several critical communities.

According to the statement, the intervention comes at a crucial time as many communities in the constituency continue to face transportation difficulties, particularly during the rainy season.

The road improvement works are expected to ease the movement of people, goods and services while stimulating economic activities across the constituency.

The statement further indicated that Dr. Jasaw has consistently placed infrastructure development and road rehabilitation at the centre of his development priorities for Wa East.
