The Keta Municipal Assembly is set to launch its Municipal Sanitation Day Clean-Up Exercise on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Anlo-Afiadenyigba to boost cleanliness and better sanitation environment in the municipality.
The event is part of President John Dramani Mahama’s and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government’s “Clean-Up Ghana” agenda, targeted at promote good sanitation practices in the country.
Mr. Innocent Komla Gawuah, the Keta Municipal Coordinating Director, told the Ghana News Agency that good sanitation was essential for maintaining public health and preventing the spread of diseases.
“Proper waste management and disposal are critical in keeping our environment clean to help reduce the risk of waterborne diseases,” he stated.
He said that the government has implemented various policies to promote good sanitation practices in the country and the “Clean-Up Ghana” agenda was one of such initiative aimed at encouraging citizens to take an active role in keeping the environment clean.
