A new music reality show, Lights of Africa, is preparing to launch with the goal of discovering and nurturing the next wave of African musical talent.

The initiative, supported by institutions such as the UNESCO Office in Accra, the National Film Authority, and the Ghana Tourism Authority, is designed to give aspiring artistes a platform to showcase their abilities regardless of background or industry connections.

Organisers say the show aims to break away from traditional entry routes into the music industry by prioritising raw talent and potential. The concept recognises that creativity can emerge from anywhere—whether from the streets, classrooms, home studios, or digital spaces.

Beyond competition, Lights of Africa will provide participants with mentorship, industry exposure, and professional development opportunities to help refine their craft and prepare them for long-term success.

The programme is open to young musicians from Ghana and across the continent, with a strong emphasis on inclusivity and accessibility. Organisers believe many talented individuals remain undiscovered due to limited access to platforms that can amplify their voices.

By partnering with leading cultural and creative institutions, the initiative also aims to boost credibility while contributing to the growth of Africa’s creative economy and expanding the global reach of African music.

Audition details and participation guidelines are expected to be released on the show’s official online platforms in the coming weeks.
