The front bench of the Majority Caucus in the Parliament of Ghana has donated their March salaries to the Ghana Sports Fund in a show of support for sports development in the country.
The gesture follows an announcement by the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams, that he would donate two months of his salary to the Fund, effective February 2026.
The Minister made the disclosure when he appeared before Parliament to deliver a statement on the Ghana Sports Fund and its operational framework on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
According to him, the Fund has been structured with a strong emphasis on transparency and accountability to support infrastructure development, school and grassroots sports, elite athlete preparation, welfare systems, and recreational activities nationwide.
He further informed the House that the National Investment Bank has contributed GH¢100,000 to the Fund, describing the move as a demonstration of corporate leadership in advancing sports development.
Other Members of Parliament also made donations toward the initiative during proceedings.
The Ghana Sports Fund is expected to mobilise both public and private sector resources to strengthen sports administration and long-term athlete development across the country.
