The decapitated body of a 33 year old uber driver and headteacher has been discovered at Feyiase Akoyem in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region. The deceased has been identified as Adjei Israel.

A search party of the police and community members led to the retrieval of the head about 20 metres away from the location of the body.

The circumstances leading to his death are yet to be known.

A woman in the area is said to have heard a loud cry nearby which ceased briefly prior to the body being found. Some residents later found the fresh body of the deceased dumped on a pathway in the area.

The attention of police was drawn to it immediately and a group of police and residents went looking for the head.

It took few minutes to find the head together with a mobile phone and wallet containing cash.

Assembly member, Samuel Kwae who narrated the incident said “I got a call from one of my committee members around 2:05 pm today [Sunday, July 4, 2021] indicating to me that, they have received news of  murder in our community, so I quickly called the police and they confirmed the news to me. So I had to come and lead them to the scene. When we got there, we met a body without the head.”

“They [Police] invited the CID to the scene to take all the needed information for investigations. So after that, I recommended to the police that we do a thorough search for the head of the deceased and indeed they listened to me and the people of the community helped me weed the place and we found the head as well.”

The head was found with many machete cuts. The area is under development, with many uncompleted houses. Residents who are seeing this for the first time fear for their lives as one family is already packing out immediately.

A white Toyota Vitz vehicle with registration number GE 3170 21 was retrieved from the scene, with all documents still intact.

Crime scene investigation team from the Central Police office have commenced investigations.
