President John Dramani Mahama has expressed optimism that with God’s direction and under his leadership Ghana will overcome its challenges.

He has, therefore, rallied Ghanaians for support to ensure success in the governance process. “Our God never sleeps, He lives forever, and He will always lead our path,” President Mahama stated on Sunday when he joined the congregation of the Ebenezer Miracle Worship Centre at Ahenema Kokoben, near Kumasi, in service.

The President was received by the Head Pastor of the Church, the Reverend Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, also known as Opambour. President Mahama was accompanied by leading figures of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) including Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Chairman, Mr Augustus Andrews Nana Akwasi, Ashanti Regional Chairman, and Dr Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister-designate.

Mr. Sharaf Mahama, the President’s son, was also present. The President praised Opambuor for his boldness even under suppression for his prophecy. “The challenge ahead is huge; my few days in government have exposed a lot and we have seen how the economy has been messed up, but we have hope and with courage we shall solve it,” he said. He called for God’s direction and protection over Rev Yiadom, whom he described as a courageous man of God.

“I heard his prophecies, and anytime it’s replayed I experience goose bumps.” Rev Opambuor, on his part, reiterated that God was the reason for the survival Ghanaians; saying: “You shall never be disgraced if you have faith in Him”. “God prophesied through me, and true to His word, His Excellency John Dramani Mahana is the President of Ghana,” he said. “May God bless the President for his faith in Christ, give him wisdom to implement the 24-hour economy policy and other campaign promises.”
