152kg of cocaine intercepted at Tema Port – NACOC

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) in a joint operation with the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) has intercepted 152kg of cocaine concealed in a shipment of sugar from Brazil at the Tema Harbour.

According to a statement from NACOC the interception was successfully carried out following intelligence gathered by the BNI and the National Security Council Secretariat.

The statement issued on Saturday, September 26, 2020, further stated that a number of arrests have been made in connection with the seizure after lab tests confirmed the substances were cocaine.
