Veteran Ghanaian actor and television host, Akwasi Boadi, widely known as Akrobeto, has been involved in a car crash while en route to Kumasi.

The accident took place near Konongo along the Accra-Kumasi highway, a stretch notorious for its dense traffic and frequent accidents, on Friday, May 23.

Preliminary reports and eyewitness accounts suggest that Akrobeto’s car collided with a heavy-duty truck. The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.

In a video shared by UTV later after the accident, Akrobeto narrated the incident, which occurred near Konongo in the Ashanti Region, just a short distance from the town while he was traveling to Kumasi.

He described the accident as “fatal” and explained that his Toyota SUV was dragged for around 30 meters until it came to a stop after colliding with a huge heavy-duty truck.

“The car rammed into mine and dragged me for about 30 meters before the articulator came to a halt for me to also come to a stop. The entire place became crowded in less than five minutes,” Akrobeto stated.

Despite the severity of the crash, Akrobeto did not sustain any injury as well as a passenger he was giving a lift to. He was taken to Kumasi Hospital, where doctors evaluated him and declared him fit.

The veteran actor expressed his gratitude to Ghanaians for their love and support following the incident.
