The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the disbursement of funds to all Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) nationwide to cover the cost of the 2026 WASSCE practical examinations.

In a statement issued on April 21, 2026, Head of Public Relations Daniel Fenyi confirmed that the funding will cater for all practical components of the exams, including the provision of necessary materials and other essential resources.

GES explained that the move is intended to ensure a seamless and well-organised examination process, allowing students to concentrate on their studies while easing the financial burden on parents and guardians.

The Service also called on regional, district, and school authorities to strictly use the funds for their intended purpose, stressing the need for accountability and efficiency in managing the resources.

Additionally, GES assured that it will closely monitor how the funds are utilised to ensure compliance and uphold high standards in examination administration.

The Service expressed gratitude to stakeholders for their continued support and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting quality education and creating an enabling environment for student success.
