The Ghana Export-Import Bank has reported a significant rise in its annual import levy collections, reaching $71 million in 2025—more than double the $34 million recorded in 2016.
Speaking at the bank’s 10th anniversary international conference on March 25, Chief Executive Sylvester Adinam Mensah described the growth as evidence of the institution’s expanding financial strength and operational progress over the past decade.
He also highlighted the bank’s broader development, including its expansion beyond Accra and the establishment of partnerships with over a dozen development finance institutions to support trade, capacity building, and advisory services.
According to him, GEXIM has implemented reforms to improve governance within its portfolio companies, introduced structured technical assistance for clients, and aligned its strategy with Ghana’s priorities in food security and industrialisation.
These achievements reflect the bank’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its role in driving trade and supporting the country’s industrial transformation as it celebrates ten years of operations.
