Haruna Iddrisu has signed a major Memorandum of Understanding between Ghana’s Ministry of Education and Google for Education, represented by its Global Managing Director, Kelvin Kells.
The agreement marks a significant step in Ghana’s efforts to modernise its education system through the integration of advanced Artificial Intelligence technologies into teaching and learning nationwide.
The partnership is expected to improve digital literacy, strengthen teachers’ technological skills, encourage innovation in classrooms, and prepare students with essential 21st-century competencies needed in a rapidly evolving digital world.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, the Education Minister described the partnership as a transformative initiative that highlights government’s commitment to using technology, innovation, and international collaboration to improve educational standards and equip learners for the future job market.
The agreement also positions Ghana as a progressive nation seeking to harness Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation to build an inclusive, competitive, and future-ready education system.
Government says the collaboration aligns with its broader vision of ensuring that every Ghanaian child benefits from opportunities in the digital age and is not left behind by technological advancement.
