The Ghana National Fire Service has strengthened its operations with the addition of new utility vehicles commissioned by Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak at the Service’s National Headquarters in Accra.

The move forms part of government efforts to improve mobility, enhance emergency response, and support efficient service delivery nationwide.

The newly commissioned fleet includes two Toyota Hiace mini buses, four Nissan Navara pick-up vehicles, and a Toyota Camry saloon car procured by the government. A Honda motorbike donated to the Service was also officially handed over during the ceremony.

Officials indicated that the vehicles will assist personnel in administrative work, fire inspections, rescue operations, and rapid emergency response activities.

Speaking at the event, the Interior Minister noted that the intervention is intended to improve the operational capacity of the Fire Service as it continues to tackle rising fire outbreaks and other emergencies across the country. He also reiterated government’s commitment to improving logistics and the welfare of officers to build a more effective and responsive emergency service.

Chief Fire Officer Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sapong expressed gratitude to the government for the support and assured that the vehicles would be properly maintained and used responsibly.

In recent months, the Fire Service has intensified public education and emergency preparedness campaigns while pushing for improved equipment and logistics to strengthen its operations nationwide.
