Mr Richard Kirk-Mensah, Head of Corporate Communications at the Ghana National Gas Company Limited, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah at his office in Accra.

The visit, first of its kind since Mr Kirk-Mensah assumed office, was to among others express his appreciation to the Minister and government for the honour done to the Western Region by appointing him to a very sensitive position at one of the flagship sectors of the economy.

Discussions centred on key issues affecting the Western Region focusing on job creation for the youth. Mr Kirk-Mensah who is the Western Regional National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Officer, reminded the Minister of the need to foster closer ties to address teething problems bedevilling the country in the areas of youth employment and sustainable mining practices.

He expressed gratitude to the Minister and his team for their continued support to the Western Region. Mr Kirk-Mensah expressed confidence in the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, adding that such talks would continue to outline broader vision for youth employment and sustainable mining in the country.

On his part, Mr Armah-Kofi Buah, Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, who doubles as the fifth time Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle, reiterated government’s commitment towards sustainable mining practices to deal with the unemployment situation in parts of the country.
