Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has ordered the immediate suspension of the Principal of the Nurses and Midwifery Training College in Nalerigu, North East Region, following preliminary findings of unauthorized admissions at the institution.
The directive was issued during the Minister’s tour of health facilities and training schools in the Upper East, North-East, and Northern Regions. After receiving a briefing on the irregularities, he visited the college and suspended the head pending further investigations.
Minister Akandoh stressed that strict compliance with admission protocols is non-negotiable and warned that any institutional leader found engaging in unauthorized practices will face firm sanctions.
He re-affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and maintaining high standards across health training institutions nationwide.
