The Keta Municipal Assembly in the Volta Region will hold its 2025 Farmers’ Day celebration at Hatorgodo on November 27. The event aims to honour the dedication and achievements of farmers across the municipality.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Mr. Godwin Tettey, Keta’s Municipal Agriculture Director, encouraged farmers and residents to take part in the celebration to recognise and motivate the hard-working food producers in the area.
He explained that all districts in the Volta Region have been directed to mark their Farmers’ Day activities before the national celebration—which will be hosted in Ho on December 5—to allow full participation and support for the regional organisers.
Mr. Tettey noted that this year’s municipal event will be memorable, with outstanding farmers set to be acknowledged with certificates for their commitment and performance. He stressed the vital role farmers play in sustaining the local economy, describing them as the “backbone” of community livelihoods.
The celebration, themed “Celebrating Our Farmers, Sustaining Our Future,” will include cultural displays, exhibitions, and presentations, giving farmers a platform to showcase their produce and connect with stakeholders to enhance their businesses.
He appealed to residents, philanthropists, institutions, and individuals to support and take part in appreciating the contributions of farmers towards food security in the municipality.
