Mohammed Kudus is facing uncertainty over his participation in the FIFA World Cup 2026 following a new injury setback.

Kudus had been working towards a return this month after sustaining a serious quad tendon injury during Tottenham Hotspur’s draw with Sunderland in January.

In March, former interim head coach Igor Tudor indicated that the midfielder was nearing recovery and could rejoin parts of team training within weeks.

However, Kudus has not resumed training with the squad since then and has reportedly aggravated the injury.

While details of the latest injury have not been disclosed, the setback is expected to sideline him for the remainder of the season, raising concerns about his availability for Ghana’s World Cup campaign in June.

Prior to his injury, Kudus had registered nine goal involvements in 24 appearances across the Premier League and UEFA Champions League for Spurs.
