President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Mr. Aaron Kanor as the Acting Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), with immediate effect.
The appointment signals a new phase for the GRA as it works to modernise its operations and reinforce national security.
Mr. Kanor brings over three decades of experience within the Authority, earning recognition for his commitment to integrity and operational efficiency. Prior to his new role, he served as Officer in Charge of Port Operations, where he oversaw enforcement of customs regulations and strengthened trade compliance measures.
Over the years, he has held several key positions, including Sector Commander at Kotoka International Airport and Wa Collections, as well as Chief Revenue Officer in multiple operational areas. He also led intelligence-driven operations that disrupted smuggling networks and exposed invoice falsification schemes.
Mr. Kanor has further contributed to the GRA’s digital transformation efforts, playing a significant role in the rollout of electronic valuation systems and initiatives aimed at reducing cargo clearance times in line with global best practices.
The GRA Board and Management have pledged their support for Mr. Kanor and expressed appreciation to the outgoing Commissioner, Glover Ashong Annan, for his service and leadership.
