The 2006 Year Group of the Old Mawuli Students Union has officially announced the launch of its 20th-anniversary celebrations, which will begin on June 6, 2026.
Known as one of the most active and vibrant groups to have graduated from Mawuli School, the year group is preparing a series of events that will run over several months. The celebrations will climax with a grand homecoming and the presentation of a major legacy project to the school on October 23, 2026, in Ho.
Although organisers have not yet disclosed details of the project, they say it will be a significant intervention aimed at positively impacting the school community. More information about the initiative is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
Across Ghana, old student associations continue to contribute significantly to the development of secondary education by supporting infrastructure, learning resources, and student welfare. The OMSU 2006 Year Group says its anniversary project is intended to continue that tradition of giving back.
The announcement comes shortly after Mawuli School’s widely celebrated 75th anniversary in October 2025, which attracted national attention. By bringing alumni together again in Ho later this year, the group hopes to sustain the momentum while celebrating two decades of friendship, impact, and service to the school.
The anniversary planning committee has also indicated that details regarding the venue for the June launch, scheduled pre-anniversary activities, and packages for the main celebration weekend will be communicated to members in the coming weeks.
