Elder Theophilus Dorgbetor, National Men’s Ministry Leader, Great Commission Church International (GCCI) Ghana, has appealed to Christians to intensify their evangelism drive, to win more souls into the Kingdom of God.

He said God’s will was that the whole world would hear the gospel of Jesus Christ and be saved. Elder Dorgbetor, who is also a banker, made the appeal at the climax of the Evangelism and Missions Week Celebration of Maranatha Assembly of GCCI in Tema, on the theme: “Come and See”.

Speaking on the topic: “Come and See what the Lord has done”, Elder Dorgbetor reiterated that just as Philip in the Bible told Nathaniel to “come and see”, Christians must invite their friends and families to their respective local congregations to come and see what the Lord was doing.

“The first place they should come is the Chapel and then they can listen to the word of God.” Elder Dorgbetor stated. Touching on the evangelism outreach in local congregations and quoting from the Bible, Acts 1:8, Elder Dorgbetor said: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

He urged Christians to endeavour to spread the gospel for Christ from their locality to the outermost part of the earth. Using the Samaritan woman’s encounter with Jesus at the well in the city of Sychar in the Bible, Elder Dorgbetor advised Christians to use their personal testimonies to win souls into the Kingdom of God.

He also appealed to Christians to worship the Lord in spirit and truth. “No matter how bad your life used to be, no matter how bad you are, if you meet Jesus, he will transform your life for his own glory,” he said. Quoting from the Bible, Elder Dorgbetor said “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Elder Dorgbetor also urged churches to make the propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ and Christlikeness their major priority.
