    Police investigates Christ Embassy leaders over mass church gathering

    Pictures of the event that flooded social media have caused outrage with people slamming the church for being irresponsible.
     

    The Police Service has commenced investigations into the alleged mass gathering by the Christ Embassy Church at Trade Fair Centre Accra on Friday, April 30, 2021. 

    According to the Police Service, the gathering was in flagrant disregard of COVID-19 protocols putting the entire country at risk of spreading COVID-19.

    The event which was organised by the Christ Embassy Church and dubbed Pneumatica Night 2021 was held at the Fantasy Dome, Trade Fair Centre on Friday. The event was attended by thousands of maskless people with little or no social distancing amid shouting and dancing.

    Pictures of the event that flooded social media have caused outrage with people slamming the church for being irresponsible.

    A statement by the Police stated that they did not provide security for the said event adding that the church leaders are being questioned and those who breached the law will face consequences.
