Ghanaian social media personality Abdul Gafaru Sadi, widely known as Webkid Afrika, has been granted bail by the Accra High Court after appearing on charges of publishing false news and offensive conduct.
Webkid was granted GH¢100,000 bail with two sureties on Monday. The charges stem from his social media posts allegedly targeting dancehall artist Stonebwoy and his family.
Dancehall superstar Shatta Wale made a dramatic appearance at the court, arriving in a striking cyan hoodie and shades. The Shatta Movement leader showed strong support for his fan by hugging supporters and acknowledging the large crowd that had gathered.
The courtroom was packed with passionate Shatta Movement fans waving placards and singing songs in solidarity. After the bail was granted, celebrations continued at Independence Square, where fans gathered to rejoice over the outcome.
While many fans celebrated the bail, a section of supporters outside the court called on Stonebwoy to publicly address the unproven paternity claims made in the controversial posts.
The case has been adjourned and will continue in court at a later date.
The incident highlights the growing tension between rival fan bases in Ghana’s dancehall scene and raises fresh conversations about the limits of social media expression and fan conduct.
Webkid Afrika remains a devoted member of the Shatta Movement, and his arrest and subsequent bail have further energized his supporters.
