Spanish garage-psych band Mucho Mungo is set to headline the inaugural Hola Accra Music Festival on April 24 in Jamestown.

The event, spearheaded by the Spanish Embassy in Ghana in collaboration with the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), aims to connect Ghanaian artists with international platforms, particularly in Spain and across Europe.

The Madrid-based trio will perform alongside leading Ghanaian bands at the historic Ussher Fort, offering a vibrant blend of Spanish and Ghanaian musical influences.

Formed in 2017, Mucho Mungo—made up of Marco González Pérez, Santiago Aguilera Velasco, and Adrien Elbaz—has built a reputation for its experimental sound, combining elements of garage, progressive, and psychedelic rock. Their debut EP, Moth Bath, released in 2020, gained attention within underground music circles.

The band has expressed excitement about performing in Ghana for the first time, describing it as an opportunity to engage new audiences and collaborate with local talent.

According to organisers, the festival will not only showcase diverse musical styles but also create a platform for collaboration, interaction, and creative exchange between international and Ghanaian artists.

With anticipation building, the Hola Accra Music Festival is expected to deliver an energetic and culturally rich experience, further strengthening artistic ties between Ghana and Spain.
