Two persons have been confirmed dead, with 19 others injured, following a road traffic accident on the N1 Highway in Accra on Monday, February 23.
A situational report from the Ghana National Fire Service indicated that its rescue team responded to a distress call at 7:58 p.m. and arrived at the scene at 8:14 p.m.
The incident involved a Kia motor truck, a Sprinter Bus, and a Volvo trailer. Fire officers rescued trapped victims and provided immediate emergency care, after which the injured were transported to Achimota Hospital and the 37 Military Hospital for treatment.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
