Parliament has approved GH¢9.8 billion for the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) in 2026 to support projects and programmes across the education sector.
Of the total amount, GH¢4.2 billion has been allocated to the Free Senior High School policy, while GH¢1.5 billion will go to the tertiary sub-sector. From the tertiary allocation, GH¢300 million is set aside for continuing students under the GETFund scholarship scheme and new beneficiaries studying locally and abroad.
Additionally, GH¢230 million has been earmarked for the completion of basic school infrastructure, with GH¢310 million allocated for the construction of new facilities.
