Absa has been named “Top Employer” for year 2025 by the Top Employer Institute (TEI), marking the fourth consecutive year the Bank has received that recognition.

A release copied to Ghana News Agency said the certification spanned six African markets, including Ghana, South Africa, Zambia, Kenya, Botswana, and, for the first time, Mauritius. Retaining the certification in all six markets, according to the Bank, demonstrated “commitment to advancing human capital practices and setting industry benchmarks.”

Ms. Jeanett Modise, Absa Group Chief Human Capital Officer, described the achievement as a significant milestone and a validation of the Bank’s effort to attract and retain top talent. “This recognition affirms our commitment to building a talented, diverse, and future-fit workforce, while positioning Absa as a globally respected organization that Africa can be proud of…. “This certification validates our efforts to retain and attract top talent, ensuring that Absa remains the home of Africa’s leading professionals,” she said.

According to the ranking, Absa’s overall Top Employer score increased to 90.15 percent, representing a rise of 3.73 percentage points from the 2024 score of 86.42 percent. The Bank linked the improvement to its focus on leadership development, work environment enhancements, employee onboarding, well-being, and feedback mechanisms. Mr. Saviour Chibiya, Chief Executive for Absa Regional Operations, emphasized the significance of Mauritius’ inclusion in the certification.

He stated: “We are pleased to see the number of Absa countries receiving this certification grow, as it reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a workplace where excellence thrives. “The addition of Mauritius is particularly significant, as it underscores the strides we continue to make in building an employer brand that resonates across the continent,” he noted. The bank highlighted efforts to enhance psychological safety, diversity, and inclusion across its operations, which it said, had contributed to “a more supportive workplace.”

TEI, a global authority on human capital excellence, conducts assessments through its internationally recognized certification programme. It provides data-driven insights and advisory services to help organizations improve their talent attraction, development, and retention strategies. Absa has expressed dedication to a high-performance culture and ensuring that its employees felt valued as it continued to expand across Africa.
