The sixth edition of the Access Bank Womenpreneur Pitch-A-Thon programme has come to an end with 50 women graduating from this year’s class.

The Womenpreneur Pitch-A-Thon powered by Access Bank aims to offer and support female entrepreneurs access to finance, world-class business training, and mentoring opportunities for their business growth.

The 50 women who graduated from this year’s class received various forms of support, including financial assistance, free website development, business protection cover and free digital marketing assistance.

Out of the 50, three women who were outstanding during the four-month competition received GH¢100,000.00 each to support their respective businesses.

They were Madam Khadija Osman of Osikalim Food Processing; Madam Geneviva Baidoo of Vieva Bee Enterprise; and Madam Emmuanuella Tordman Khadija of Dr Do God Limited.

Also, the Access Bank MD’s special prize of GH¢20,000.00 for persons with disabilities went to Wilhelmina Ametepeh for her desire to become a successful entrepreneur.

Madam Matilda Asante-Asiedu, Group Head for Retail Banking, Access Bank Ghana, extended her heartfelt wishes to the finalists and assured them of their support on their business journey.

“Women are the majority of business owners in Ghana, and as a bank that is dedicated to supporting women businesses, this pitch-a-ton is an opportunity for women to pitch their ideas and get the needed training, knowledge, skills and grants.

“So their idea is to expose these women to the market opportunities and help them grow, especially the women who are small business owners.

“The programme has been very impactful, especially in creating jobs and also improving livelihoods, so we are very dedicated to this programme,” she said.

Madam Asante-Asiedu stated her willingness to expand the programme to include more womenpreneurs because more women in need of assistance.

She commended the partners, Coronation Insurance Ghana and Development Bank Ghana, for supporting the finalists with various packages.

Madam Baidoo of Vieva Bee Enterprise, a winner of the GH¢100,000.00 prize, expressed gratitude to Access Bank and other partners for making her dream of extending her business come true.

According to her, the business was devastated last October when her shop burned down, but she feels the funding would help her expand despite the loss.

“It has been my dream to invest in my work, so this money will help get the needed machinery and raw materials and also employ a few others that can help me expand.

“Through the proceeds I make from my business, I always have this annual donation I make to the orphanages; this will keep alive my dedication to helping the less privileged,” she said.
