Over 100 women in the Ledzokuku Municipality of the Greater Accra Region have successfully completed a free skills training program meaimed at empowering them with job opportunities.

The initiative, facilitated by the Adjei Empire Foundation, equipped participants with practical skills in soap, floor cleaner, ice cream and brown sugar production.

The move seeks to address the increasing unemployment rates among women by offering them valuable skills and creating job opportunities, a news release shared with the Ghana News Agency said.

Beneficiaries are expected to either start their own businesses or secure jobs in related industries.

Mr. Samuel Adjei, the CEO of the Adjei Empire Foundation, expressed the organization’s concern regarding increasing unemployment and its impact on the living conditions of citizens, particularly women.

He emphasised that the training was intended to equip women with employable skills and enhance their livelihoods.

“This initiative is part of our broader mission to empower women economically and reduce poverty within our communities. We believe that equipping women with these skills will help them generate income and become financially independent,” Mr Adjei said.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the organization for the opportunity to learn new skills, stating that the initiative would help them establish their own businesses to support themselves and their families.

“Before this training, I had no source of income, but now I have the skills and confidence to start my own small business,” stated Madam Rachel Narh, a beneficiary.

The Samuel Adjei Empire Foundation has been at the forefront of community-based initiatives, working to uplift underprivileged groups and create sustainable job opportunities for women and youth.

The foundation has pledged to expand the training to other parts of the country in the coming months.
