“In its development phases, the new Defender has seen temperatures of minus 40 degrees to plus 50 degrees and assisted with conservation and red cross activities in Kenya Botswana, Dubai and Kazakhstan.

“In other words, the new Defender is ready for the Ghanaian customer to use in daily drives and for any adventure. Wherever you want to go in the length and breadth of this country, the new Defender will take you there”.

He also urged government, individuals and humanitarian agencies to purchase the vehicle which has proven to be durable in the harshest environments across the world.

Addressing the press moments before the vehicle was unveiled by Peace FM broadcaster Kwame Sefa-Kayi, the Sales Manager of Alliance Motors, Mr Peter Boateng said the Defender 110 which is on sale at $90,000 (excluding taxes) offers a choice of five, six or seven (5+2) seating configurations and a loadspace ranging from 1,075 litres behind the second row, to 2,380 litres with seats folded.

He said not only is the new version driven by a passion and respect for the original, it also includes a flagship 3.0-litre straight six-cylinder P400 featuring efficient Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle technology with outputs of 294kW and 550Nm.
