Diawusie Aponsem Darko II, the Chief of Atronie in the Sunyani Municipality has appealed for support towards the completion of the on-going construction of a Community Senior High School (SHS) project in the area.
He also appealed for toilet facilities for the people, saying the lack of male and female public toilets in town was contributing to poor sanitary condition of the area.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Atronie, a farming community near Sunyani, Diawusie Darko II indicated that the town had mobilised funds and was putting up a SHS project, worrying that lack of funding had slowed work on the project.
With a SHS, the chief said the rising school dropout rates at Atronie and its adjoining communities would be reduced, saying the area needed the SHS to enable Junior School graduates to access secondary education.
Diawusie Darko II also called on the government to rehabilitate the deplorable condition of the Sunyani-Atronie road to facilitate the movements of the people and their economic activities.
