Ghanaian gospel musician Celestine Donkor has teamed up with the Road Safety Authority (RSA) to roll out a new road-safety campaign aimed at curbing the alarming rise in traffic-related deaths across the country.

As part of the initiative, she will create songs and produce videos that highlight the causes of road accidents, while using her influence to engage the public in promoting safer driving habits.

Celestine also appealed to motorists to be more cautious, urging them to respect speed limits, avoid distractions, and prioritise safety.
“Always wear your seat belt, and exercise patience on the road,” she advised.

The partnership follows troubling data showing that between January and August 2025, 1,937 people lost their lives in road crashes—an average of six to eight deaths every day.

Celestine Donkor is known for her commitment to social impact. She previously spearheaded charitable efforts with a group of female gospel artistes to support ailing and elderly industry veterans. She also served as a COVID-19 vaccination ambassador for the Ghana Health Service, encouraging public trust in the vaccines.

Through this road-safety initiative, she hopes to draw attention to the life-changing consequences of road behaviour and inspire Ghanaians to make safer choices on the roads.
