Chelsea Football Club have officially confirmed the appointment of Liam Rosenior as the new head coach of the men’s first team, with the Englishman signing a contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2032.
Rosenior joins the Premier League giants following an impressive spell in France with RC Strasbourg, where he guided the club to European qualification for the first time in 19 years in his debut season. Prior to that, he held managerial roles at Hull City and Derby County.
Reacting to his appointment, Rosenior described the opportunity as a huge honour, stating that Chelsea’s history and winning culture make the role especially meaningful. He said his priority is to preserve the club’s identity while building a team that reflects its values and continues to challenge for trophies.
He emphasised the importance of unity, teamwork, and togetherness as the foundation of success, and expressed excitement about working with the players and staff to create a strong and connected environment. Rosenior also pledged to work tirelessly to ensure the team competes at the highest level and makes the club’s supporters proud.
Chelsea, in welcoming their new head coach, said Rosenior has demonstrated a strong ability to build teams with a clear playing philosophy and high standards both on and off the pitch. The club added that while player development remains a priority, expectations and ambitions remain high, and Rosenior has the full backing to ensure Chelsea continue to compete for major honours both this season and in the years ahead.
