Mrs Olivia Ansu Amponsah, Executive Secretary of CMA said the project was aimed at enlightening the members, to enable them to participate fully in the general elections.

She explained that this was why the trainings were run in every election year, so their members as well as Ghanaian women in general could make a positive impact on the country’s democratic dispensation.

Participants expressed grave concern about the safety and security of ballots while in transit to the Electoral Commission Headquarters in Accra.

They, therefore, called for vigilance from all stakeholders in this regard, to ensure acceptance of the results in good faith, to consolidate the country’s democracy.

Madam Akorfa Buabasa of the Akatsi North Directorate of the Electoral Commission, who facilitated the workshop urged participants to use the knowledge acquired at the training, to make a difference in society.

Similar exercise took place at Jasikan in the Oti Region.
