DKT Ghana, a leading provider of reproductive healthcare solutions, has officially commissioned the Aframase CHPS Compound in the Upper Manya Krobo District of the Eastern Region.

This initiative, undertaken as part of the Phil Harvey Memorial Project, aims to improve healthcare access for underserved communities.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Country Director of DKT Anglophone West Africa, Alex K. Brown, emphasized the organization’s commitment to enhancing reproductive and primary healthcare in Ghana.

“This project is dedicated to the memory of Phil Harvey, the founder of DKT International, whose lifelong mission was to ensure quality reproductive healthcare for vulnerable populations. His legacy lives on through this facility, which will provide essential services such as maternal care, child welfare, and family planning,” Mr. Brown stated.

In addition to the CHPS Compound, DKT Ghana provided a borehole to ensure access to clean and safe drinking water, further enhancing the health and well-being of the community.

Special recognition was given to Bismark Tetteh Nyarko, Member of Parliament for Upper Manya Krobo Constituency, for his invaluable support.

He not only facilitated the construction process but also donated land and building materials to ensure the project’s success.

In his remarks, Bismark Tetteh Nyarko thanked DKT International for coming to the aid of the Aframase community and re-affirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that improve healthcare access in the district.

The Divisional Chief of Aframase, Nene Ofei Tagbaja also expressed his gratitude to DKT International and assured that he would work with the community to ensure a proper maintenance culture to sustain the facility for generations to come.

Speaking on behalf of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr. Claudette Diogo, Head of the Family Health Division, thanked DKT Ghana for supporting the GHS in bridging the infrastructure gap in healthcare delivery. She noted that facilities like the Aframase CHPS Compound are critical in expanding healthcare services and ensuring that more communities have access to quality healthcare.

As part of the commissioning, DKT Ghana organized a community health outreach program, offering free health education, family planning services, and reproductive health product distribution.
