Dr Lawrence Tetteh, President/Founder Worldwide Outreach Ministry and an International Evangelist, has urged Members of Parliament (MPs) and politicians to live above reproach and have their lives reflect their title “honorable”.

He said the disruption of the vetting of Ministerial Nominees and the subsequent destruction of some equipment used for the vetting on Thursday, January 30, was very unfortunate. “It is very sad that we allow Parliament to go through what is it going through now. But as much as we want to respect them, they must also create an atmosphere that will give room for people to honor them, because they are our leaders, and we want them to set good examples for us.” He said.

Dr Tetteh said this when he preached to climax of the Prayerfest2025 of the Maranatha Assembly of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI) in Tema. The week-long prayer and fasting programme of the Church on the theme: “The God of Heaven, He will Prosper Us”, was to seek the blessings and favor of God for the new year.

Dr Tetteh called on the nation to pray for the Legislative body, for them to live above reproach. “I want Ghanaians to pray for our Parliament, because this thing has happened before. In 2021 it happened, and it has happened again. It is not good. It doesn’t send a good signal at all about our Legislature,” he stated.

He encouraged MPs to rise above their emotions; saying “because emotions have no intellect”. “And when they get emotionally inclined, it is not good. It doesn’t send a good right signal that even a Parliamentarian should go through some of the things that they are going through.”

He urged the MPs to remember that they were representing Ghanaians and not themselves. Rev Iddi Yire, the Resident Pastor of Maranatha Assembly of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI), expressed gratitude to Dr Tetteh for his blessings and impartations to the Church.
