Ecobank Ghana PLC has donated 100 laptops to the University of Ghana, fulfilling its three-year pledge to support the Vice-Chancellor’s “One Student, One Laptop” initiative.

The latest donation marks the final batch of the bank’s commitment, which began in 2023 with an initial delivery of 100 laptops, followed by another 100 units in 2024.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony in Accra on April 1, Managing Director Abena Osei-Poku highlighted the critical role of digital access in modern education. She stressed that access to technology is now essential, enabling students to better prepare for the job market and drive innovation.

She added that while the university provides IT training and support, having personal devices significantly enhances students’ learning experience and capacity for innovation.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Nana Aba Appiah Amfo praised the bank for honouring its commitment, noting that digital literacy has become indispensable across all fields of study.
