Conveners of the #FixtheCountryprotest, following a meeting with the new Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Dampare, and the Ghana Police Service’s top hierarchy, have assured Ghanaians that the protest, scheduled for August 4th, 2021, will be a full Ghana Police operation, with no military involvement.

The purpose of the meeting was to reassure protesters that they will be adequately protected come the time for the protest.

The routes set aside for the protest are Obra Spot – Farisco – TUC – JEA Mills High Street – Independent Square. There are also trained marshals who have been recruited to join the police and help in undertaking their tasks that day.

These marshals will assist in directing the crowd and ensuring that the Covid-19 protocols are followed.
The meeting was guaranteed that the operation was a police operation with no military involvement.
Furthermore, except as a precautionary measure, no water canons will be used on the protestor.

The conveners stated in a press statement that there will be no counter-protesters and that there will be protection against infiltrating protesters.
The protest will be peaceful, and anyone with malicious intentions will be turned over to the police to be dealt with.
After much deliberation, it was decided that the protest would take place on August 4th.
