The Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) has granted amnesty to students who have not been able to graduate since 2013.
Per the amnesty, they are to register and complete their various programmes of study within the next three years.
In a public notice published in the Daily Graphic Friday [November 27, 2020], the affected students lost their studentship as a result of the inability to meet the requirement for graduation and as such were not awarded to have completed their programmes of study with the institution.
“The Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) has approved a general amnesty to all students who have not graduated since 2013 and therefore have lost their studentship,” the notice said.
“The Academic Board at its meeting held on Wednesday, 18th November 2020 granted the amnesty to students who could not meet the requirements for graduation between 2013 and 2020 to complete their programme of study within the next three years,” it said.
It also indicated that course registration will commence from December 1 to 18, 2020 at the Academic Affairs Registry and as such students are expected to make approved payment at any Fidelity Bank branch from January 4, 2021 to February 4, 2021.
The public notice added that affected students are required to attend classes and participate in class activities such as quizzes, end-of-semester examinations which will form part of their assessment.
