The Western North Solidarity Movement, a group in the Western North Region, has expressed worry over the state of filth and non-functioning streetlights within Sefwi-Wiawso, the regional capital.

A statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Anthony Aduhene, and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said authorities in the capital were shirking their responsibility to keep the area clean and safe for residents.

The statement said good sanitation, street lightening, chocked drainage systems, and poor maintenance of inner-city roads among others posed a major threat in the people.

It, therefore appealed to the Wiawso Municipal Assembly to take steps to reverse the situation to guarantee good health and security for residents.
