“This recognition is a testament to your unwavering commitment to peace and stability in Africa. Your work has made a significant impact, inspiring hope and transformation in communities,” he told the recipients.

The recipients included renowned leaders, peace advocates, and humanitarians from around Africa who were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments in a variety of categories.

Mrs. Victoria Lebene Osafo-Nkansa; Maame Yaa Konamah, a respected media figure; and Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, a Commissioner of Police, were among the notable beneficiaries.

Others were Dr Victor Obodai Anang, Sultan Adamu Mohammed, and the Economic and Organised Crime Office.

The Africa Peace Advocate Award 2024 was attended by dignitaries, diplomatic corps, traditional leaders, and civil society organisations.

Ambassador Owusu, IAWPA-Ghana’s Country Director, highlighted the organization’s dedication to fostering peace, security, and women’s empowerment across Africa.

“This is crucial in maintaining peace and stability in our beloved country,” he said.

Ambassador Owusu urged all political parties to prioritize peace.

He called on opposition parties to carry out their campaigns with decency and respect, avoiding actions that could promote violence or create division in the community.

“Remember, we are all working towards One Ghana 2024,” he advised.

Ambassador Owusu also called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to focus on ensuring peace and stability as his term ends.

He stressed that a peaceful environment was essential for the nation’s progress and development.

“Mr. President, I humbly advice as your tenure ends, you leave office in peace and cement your legacy by ensuring a democratic, peaceful transition… This selfless act will solidify your commitment to Ghana’s progress and stability,” he said.
