Independent Member of Parliament-elect Andrews Amoako Asiamah says he will sit with the ruling New Patriotic Party in Parliament.

The NPP MP for Fomela who contested as independent has been the centre of attention since per the EC none of the two parties has a clear majority.

Speaking to Starr News the MP stated he will side with the NPP in spite of declaration of his seat vacant by the Speaker at the behest of the party. Mr. Asiamah further disclosed the two parties have been jostling to get him to their side adding even President Akufo-Addo who publicly stated he can’t work with him as an independent MP prior to the elections has called him following his victory.

“The issue regarding what side I join has been discussed already. I have said it time without number that I am a member of the NPP by blood. There is nothing that can change that,” he said.

“The election was not easy for me especially with the decision I took. I contested against big parties like the NPP and NDC but by God’s help, the constituents saw my potential and what I have done. They noticed my humble service and sincerity to the constituency.”
