In a significant development, the four independent Members of Parliament (MPs) have announced their decision to conduct business with the Majority Caucus in the House, Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, the Majority Leader has revealed.

According to Dr. Forson, while all four independent MPs had confirmed their stance, only Mr. Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as A Plus, the MP for Gomoa Central, had officially communicated his decision to the Majority Caucus.

He said the remaining three MPs, Mr. Ohene Kwame Frimpong, MP for Asante Akim North; Mr. Nandaya Yaw Stanley, MP for Wulensi and Mr. Worlasi Kpeli, MP for Afram Plains North had been directed to formally notify the Majority Caucus and the Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Alban Bagbin of their decision for validation.

Dr. Forson stated, ” Mr. Speaker, currently, we have received letters from all four of them. So, Mr. Speaker, we will wait for them to officially write to you,” he said on the Floor of the House.

“Mr. Speaker, my attention has been drawn to the fact that so far, the MP for Gomoa Central has written to us, but the rest are yet to write officially to confirm their positions,” Dr. Forson added. This development is expected to have significant implications for the balance of power in the House and may influence the outcome of key debates and decisions.
