Reverend Martin Amenaki, Ketu North Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) nominee, has paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of the Dzodze Traditional Area and President of the Dzodze Traditional Council, Torgbui Dzoku V.

The visit, which took place on Wednesday, March 26, came just a few hours after his nomination by President John Dramani Mahama. It was aimed at officially informing the Paramount Chief and his council of elders about his selection for the office of Municipal Chief Executive for Ketu North.

Rev. Amenaki, who also serves as the Ketu North Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), expressed his deep gratitude to Torgbui Dzoku V and the Dzodze Traditional Council for their fatherly and impartial guidance throughout the process. He humbly sought their support and blessings as he prepared for confirmation and subsequent service in the municipality.

He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the development of the Ketu North Municipality, pledging to work closely with traditional authorities and other stakeholders to drive progress. He also called on the chiefs to support his administration to ensure unity and effective governance. Torgbui Dzoku V, on behalf of the Dzodze Traditional Council, commended Rev. Amenaki for the honor of visiting them so soon after his nomination.

He noted that such swift engagement demonstrated the nominee’s respect for traditional leadership and his dedication to inclusive governance. The chiefs used the opportunity to advise Rev. Amenaki on the expectations of the traditional council and the people of Ketu North. They urged him to prioritize development projects that would improve the lives of residents, strengthen local governance, and foster unity among all stakeholders.

Additionally, the council pledged to engage their subjects to ensure a smooth confirmation process for the nominee, emphasising that any further delay in the appointment could hinder the municipality’s development. At the end of the visit, Rev. Amenaki and his entourage expressed their appreciation for the warm reception, exchanged pleasantries with the chiefs, and reaffirmed their commitment to collaboration for the advancement of Ketu North.
