The three teenagers arrested in connection with the death of a final year student of the Oppong Memorial Senior High School at Kokofu in the Ashanti Region, are expected to appear before a Bekwai Circuit Court today, Wednesday, September 8, 2021.

The three were arrested on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

According to police, one of the suspects, a fifteen-year-old, has confessed to stabbing the deceased, 21-year old Richard Kofi Appiah to death.

Bekwai District Police Commander, DSP Teddy Damptey-Brown told Citi News “we had a tip-off that some of them were in a hideout so we went there and laid hold on one. The first suspect led us to two others. We however were not able to catch up with some three others who were mentioned. They are currently at large.”

“One of the three we arrested, a 15-year-JHS 2 student confirmed that he threw broken bottles at the deceased. The three will be “arraigned before court later today.”

The deceased, 21-year-old Richard Kofi Appiah, who left the school for the town, was attacked and stabbed on his way over the weekend.

He died shortly after he was rushed to the Bekwai Government Hospital.

It is unclear why he was attacked.
