President John Dramani Mahama has appointed celebrated media personality Kwasi Kyei Darkwah, popularly known as KKD, as Ghana’s Special Envoy to the Caribbean Region.
The appointment aligns with Ghana’s renewed push to strengthen international relations and deepen bilateral cooperation with Caribbean nations.
In his new role, KKD will spearhead efforts to enhance diplomatic, cultural, and economic ties between Ghana and countries across the Caribbean—regions bound by longstanding historical and ancestral connections.
His mandate covers key nations including Cuba, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, among others.
The position forms part of Ghana’s broader foreign policy agenda to expand trade and investment partnerships, promote Ghanaian culture on the global stage, and collaborate with Caribbean states on shared development priorities.
