The Kwahu Professionals Network (KPN) has expressed concern over recent statements in sections of the media regarding potential disturbances during the upcoming Kwahu Easter celebrations.

It refuted those claims, saying they were “entirely unfounded and misleading,” and assured the public of a safe and peaceful festival.

In a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday, signed by Mr Richard Nyarko Sarpong, President of KPN, the network condemned the “false” claims, asserting they were creating “unnecessary fear and panic” among the public.

It emphasised the safety of the Kwahu Easter festival, a hallmark of unity, cultural celebration, and tourism, which had always been held in a serene and controlled environment.

The statement reassured the public of all the necessary safety measures being put in place, with the full support of law enforcement agencies, local authorities, and the Ghana Tourism Authority to ensure the success of the programme.

It stressed that there was no credible intelligence to support the claims being circulated and urged the public to dismiss them outrightly. “We want to assure all Ghanaians and international visitors that the 2025 Kwahu Easter festivities will be safe and enjoyable,” the statement said.

“We have worked tirelessly to ensure a secure environment for everyone to celebrate our rich culture and heritage.” It called on stakeholders, including the media, to share accurate information to avoid causing anxiety in the public space.

The statement encouraged all well-meaning Ghanaians and international visitors to participate confidently in the celebrations, promising a vibrant experience filled with music, cultural displays, exquisite local cuisine, and paragliding on the breathtaking mountainous landscape.
