Many local business owners in Tema are excited about their revenue boost as they cash in on the sale of Valentine’s Day celebration items with special offers to customers.
According to some of the business owners, in the month of love, especially on Valentine’s Day, their businesses were opened to opportunities for more sales, job opportunities, and new customer exposure.
Miss Elizabeth Quansah, a boutique owner, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that during this period she prepares some special stock for sales to meet the taste of her clients.
She said the Valentine season sees a surge in the demand for dresses, shoes, bags, and gowns. “People come in for dresses and bags, especially in the colour red, so they can go on dates wearing them,” she stated.
She stated, however, that some challenges faced during such periods were late deliveries to clients by riders and stock shortages, indicating that “Clients demand red-coloured clothes and accessories, and these things are limited—not to talk of the late deliveries my clients complain of, but I’m working towards all that.”
Mr. Jefferson Adjei, a graphic designer, said when Valentine’s Day approaches, most local businesses reach out to him for fliers, love cards, and love stickers.
He said he creates special offers for his clients with a discount sale of up to 50 percent for any of his services, adding that regardless of the discount, he makes a lot of revenue due to the number of orders that he receives compared to ordinary days.
Ms. Elegance Acheampong, a salon owner, mentioned that she offers services such as pedicure, manicure, makeup, and braids, adding that she has created packages for all her services for the Valentine’s Day celebration.
According to her, due to her packages, she has been fully booked for the past few weekends, making her earn more than she would have gotten on normal occasions.
