    McDan aviation halts private jet operations at KIA

    McDan Aviation has announced the suspension of its private jet operations at the Terminal 1 of the Kotoka International Airport with immediate effect.

    A letter dated 31st January 2022 and signed by the Executive Chairman OF McDan group of companies, Dr. Daniel Mckorley explained that the decision to suspend operation was to thoroughly engage the Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL).

    “We are writing to officially inform you about our decision to suspend our operations at the Fixed Base Operator Terminal with immediate effect.

    “This has become necessary to pave the way for us to thoroughly engage your outfit and all the key stakeholders on the way forward,” Dr. Mckorley reiterated in the letter addressed to the Managing Director of GACL.

    Background

    The Ghana Airports Company has accused the CEO and Chairman of McDan Group Dr. Daniel McKorley of violating their safety precautions in the launch of his private jet services at the Terminal 1 of the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in Accra.

    The company in a letter to the businessman circulating in the media said McDan disregarded a directive by the Aiports company to cancel the launch of his private jet services over safety precautions.

    The launch of the McDan private jet services took place on Friday January 28,2022.

    McDan Aviation’s private jet services is a first of its kind in the sub-region and “will cater to high-end clientele with a sense of optimizing luxury, and for corporate executives seeking to leverage quick and efficient commute for the purpose of business.”

    Some special services that customers will enjoy include; Separate entrance and guarded parking place provide the maximum comfort, safety and confidentiality.

    Executive Protection and Escorting, Customs and passport checkpoints equipped with the newest equipment and operated accurately and promptly.

    Duty-free shop and cosy lounge and waiting rooms; where guests can relax and enjoy the snacks and coffee, or read the latest news.
